Mountaineering Villages

The Alpine Association’s Mountaineering Villages meet the objectives of the Alpine Convention in a very unique way, aiming at a sustainable development in the entire Alpine region." Sounds a lot like Johnsbach, doesn’t it? This is precisely the reason why Johnsbach is part of the Mountaineering Villages network.
Steiermark-card
The Steiermark-Card is your personal ticket for the green province of Styria. Regardless of whether it is spring, summer, or fall, whether you’re travelling with our family or seeking adventures on your own, this card, once acquired, gives you free access to approx. 130 excursion destinations – from mountains to lakes, from the Dachstein region to the thermal region. From April 1 until October 31, Styria’s diversity is yours. In Johnsbach, for example, holders of the Steiermark-Card will benefit when they visit the Odelstein cave.
Finnland Block
The Finnland Block GmbH company has been constructing comfortable, cosy, affordable and ecological log houses for many years. By constantly expanding its portfolio, the company allows its clients to select the log house of their dreams. Finnland Block has become a dear and close friend – part of the Kölblwirt family, as they say. If you would like to see actual Finnland Block log houses, just come visit us at the Kölblwirt. Adventure Outdoor Strobl
In order to organise exciting outdoor summer tours and events, we want to rely on strong partners. Adventure Outdoor Strobl, founded in 1988, is one of them. The members of the team are most reliable and have fun doing their job, which is why we gladly place our guests into the experienced hands of Adventure Outdoor Strobl, and they all return to the Kölblwirt in the evening with lots of great new memories.
Gesäuse National Park
"Gesäuse" or "Xeis", what does that even mean? The term Gesäuse is derived from wild waters carving their way through deep canyons and flowing over sharp rocks. The Gesäuse is home to the Enns River and the wild and magnificent mountains at its edges. The Gesäuse is our home, too, with Johnsbach right at its heart. In 2002, the Gesäuse became Austria’s youngest National Park, captivating our guests with its unique landscape and exciting opportunities for all ages.
Styria Beef
"Styria Beef" is the Styrian organic farmers’ Premium beef brand. All animals are raised at cow-suckler farms, i.e. the calves remain with their family unit and suckle their mothers’ milk. All the feed we give our animals is generally produced at our own farm. Synthetic chemicals and genetic engineering are out of the question. Strict unannounced inspections guarantee that all requirements are met. At the Kölblwirt Inn, we are proud to be a partner of the Styria Beef network. High quality and organically produced foods are an essential part of our philosophy – something we also wish to share with our guests.
